Roger G. Hamel

Roger G Hamel carries on the family business today with his son, Scott, and wife, Judith.

He has been married to the former Judith Wickens, currently office manager and treasurer of the company, for the past 36 years. They have three children: Scott, Craig, and Michele.

Roger is a member of the Massachusetts Funeral Directors Association and has served as one of its directors. He is also a member of the National Funeral Directors Association.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corp for four years and is a member of the Caddy Detachment of the Marine Corp League, the Cyril P. Morrisette Post No. 294 American Legion, and the Cape & Island Marine Corp League.

Roger is a graduate of Newman Prep and the New England Institute of Applies Arts and Science. He is also a member of the following organizations: past president and life member of the Quincy Lions Club, life member of the Quincy Historical Society, former director of the Quincy Center Business and Professional Assoc., Quincy Rural Lodge AF & AM, Taleb Grotto and Shriners, life member of the Braintree Gun Club, NRA, and the GOAL 100 Club.



Scott Hamel

Scott was born in Quincy, MA on July 28, 1966 and is a life resident of Quincy. He graduated North Quincy High School, Class of 1984.

Following high school Scott joined the U.S Army for 3 years (1984-1987) as a Tank Driver & Gunner. He served in Germany for 2 years and Fort Benning, GA for his final year. After 3 years of active duty, Scott joined the Massachusetts National Guard for 3 years (1987 - 1990) and was stationed in Methuen, MA.

Scott started working for the family business in 1988. He graduated from Massasoit Community College in 1991 with an Associates Degree in Business. He attended Mount Ida College in Newton and graduated in 1993 with a degree in Funeral Services. Scott received his Funeral Directing and Embalming License in 1993.

At present time, Scott is Manager of the third-generation family business, The Hamel, Wickens & Troupe Funeral Home in Quincy and is owner and operator of The Cremation Society of Massachusetts.

Christopher Goulet

Chris was born and raised in southern New Hampshire, and graduated from Goffstown High School before receiving his degree in Mortuary Science from the New England Institute at Mount Ida College in May of 1994.

He served his internship at the former J.S. Waterman & Sons Funeral Service in Kenmore Square, Boston. While there, he became familiar with the many customs and traditions associated with Buddhist and Chinese Funeral Rites, and he served a very diverse culture living in the greater metropolitan Boston area. He went on to become Director of Advance Planning at their locations along the South coast between the areas of Fall River and New Bedford.

Joining the firm in 2004, Chris manages our pre-arrangement department. In January, 2006 his responsibilities expanded, and now include overseeing day to day operations along with Scott. His goal is to ensure the complete satisfaction of each family we serve.

Judith (Wickens) Hamel

Judith Hamel was raised in Quincy and attended Quincy schools. She was a graduate from Woodward School for Girls and Hickox Secretarial School. She married Roger Hamel in 1964 and had three children: Scott, who manages the Quincy office; Craig, a Federal Police Officer; and, Michele, a retail manager. When her mother became ill she started working in the office part-time while her children were young. As time went on it became a full time job and she is now the office manager.


Beverly (Cellucci) Loud

Beverly Loud was raised in Quincy and attended Quincy Schools. She married Paul Loud and they have two sons, Derrick and Darrell. Beverly was the Secretary at Christ Church for 12 years part-time and then took on a full-time job with the Cremation Society of Massachusetts as the office secretary. Beverly is the one families speak to when calling the office. She also sends out all the cremation information, sets up the files when people join, and handles all the necessary paperwork.



Frank A. Martin
Frank A. Martin was born in Brockton, MA. He graduated from Braintree High School and currently resides in Quincy, MA. Following high school Frank attended Tufts University, Ithaca College and graduated from Boston University. He enlisted in the US Army and served there and in the MA National Guard for six years. Frank was an adjunct music teacher in the public schools of Lexington, MA, North Reading, MA, and Newton, MA, until his retirement in 1997. In 1986 he became associated with The Hamel Wickens & Troupe Funeral Home and the Cremation Society of MA upon its founding in 1994. Frank is a Funeral Home Assistant with these firms.
